Metabolic Disorders Research Center

Genetics Laboratory

Genetics Laboratory (Cellular-Molecular), a sub-unit of the Center for the Existence of Genetics Laboratory. The laboratory is equipped with the materials and equipment required for genetic and molecular studies with the highest facilities. With the launch of this system, cellular-molecular studies in the field of endocrine diseases and metabolism are possible with the participation of various domestic and foreign scientific and research centers.

The metabolic disorder research center in the field of education, research, and genetics laboratory headed by Dr. Mohammad Amoli is ready to provide the following cooperation and services:

1.  Sharing the samples and data available in the biobank and the data of metabolic patients.

2. Cooperation in conducting genetic, biochemical, and TMS tests for metabolic patients, including:

  • Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL)
  • Ret Syndrome
  • Hereditary hypophosphatemic rickets with hypercalciuria (HHRH)
  • Mutations in the Men1,2 gene
  • Mutations in monogenic diabetes
  • Mutations in obesity syndrome
  • Identification of MC4R gene mutations

3- In the field of training and providing services:

  • DNA, RNA, and protein extraction from blood, tissue, and cell culture medium
  • Primer design
  • PCR and RT-PCR primer design
  • Reverse Transcriptase PCR (RT-PCR)
  • Real-Time Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (RQ-PCR)
  • PCR-RFLP
  • High-Resolution DNA Melting Curve Technique (HRM)
  • cfDNA extraction
  • TaqMan
  •  Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) Analysis
